Age Limit
Candidates born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to appear in this Open Recruitment Rally. If a candidate clears all stages of the selection procedure, the upper age limit as on the date of enrolment should not exceed 22 years.
Candidates must satisfy one of the following educational qualifications:
Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects from a Central/State/UT recognised Education Board, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR passed a two-year Vocational Course from a recognised Education Board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English in the Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in the Vocational Course).
OR passed a three-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology/Information Technology) from a recognised Polytechnic Institute, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English in the Diploma Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in the Diploma Course).
Note: The exact aggregate percentage before decimal, as written in the marksheet, is considered (for example, 49.99% is taken as 49% and is not rounded off to 50%).
Selection Process
Selection for Agniveervayu Intake 01/2027 involves document verification followed by multiple test stages, all typically conducted over the rally days.
Verification of Eligibility: Original/DigiLocker-verified educational certificates and other applicable documents (domicile, COAFP, NCC, discharge certificate, etc.) are scrutinised prior to the Physical Fitness Test.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
PFT-I: 1.6 Km run — male candidates within 7 minutes, female candidates within 8 minutes.
PFT-II (after 10 minutes recuperation): Male candidates — 10 push-ups (1 min), 10 sit-ups (1 min), 20 squats (1 min), with rest breaks between exercises. Female candidates — 10 sit-ups (1 min 30 sec), 15 squats (1 min), with rest breaks between exercises.
Written Test: Objective type, bilingual (English & Hindi, except the English paper), duration 45 minutes, comprising English (20 questions, as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus) and Reasoning & General Awareness/RAGA (30 questions). Candidates must qualify each paper separately. Marking: +1 for each correct answer, 0 for unattempted questions, and -0.25 for each wrong answer or multiple-option answer. Results are declared the same day.
Adaptability Test-I (AT-I): Objective written test assessing suitability for employment in varied geographic, weather, and operational conditions.
Adaptability Test-II (AT-II): Assesses adaptability to Indian Air Force environment and military way of life; conducted the same or a subsequent day.
Medical Examination: Conducted in September 2026 at Jorhat (for 11 ASC) and Sri Vijaya Puram (for 8 ASC), including baseline investigations such as blood haemogram, urine RE/ME, blood sugar, serum cholesterol, RFT, LFT, chest radiograph, ECG, and (for female candidates) ultrasonography of the lower abdomen and pelvis.
Appeal Medical Board (AMB): Candidates declared medically unfit may appeal by depositing ₹40 via e-MRO/MRO within three working days of the medical examination.
Provisional Select List and Enrolment: The state-wise Provisional Select List (PSL) is prepared based on performance and state-wise cut-offs and vacancies; inclusion in the PSL does not guarantee enrolment. The final Enrolment List is published after the PSL.
IAF Agniveervayu Salary and Pay Package
Agniveervayu personnel are paid a customised Agniveer package that increases each year of the 4-year engagement, split between an in-hand component and a contribution to the Agniveer Corpus Fund (matched by the Government of India).
Insurance and Other Benefits
Non-contributory Life Insurance cover of ₹48 lakh for the duration of the engagement period.
Annual leave of 30 days per year; sick leave based on medical advice from a competent Medical Authority.
Medical facility at service hospitals and CSD provisions during the engagement period.
A detailed Agniveer Skill Certificate is provided at the end of the engagement, highlighting skills and competency acquired.
Agniveervayu are not eligible for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) status after discharge on completion of the 4-year engagement.
Up to 25% of each Agniveervayu batch may be offered an opportunity to apply for enrolment into the Regular Cadre as Airman, based on organisational requirements, performance, and objective criteria; there is no right to further enrolment.
Application Fee
No application fee for the Open Recruitment Rally itself is specified in the official notification. A separate fee of ₹40 applies only if a candidate wishes to file an Appeal Medical Board (AMB) request after being declared medically unfit.
Documents Required for IAF Agniveervayu Rally
Candidates must carry the following to the rally venue:
HB pencil, eraser, sharpener, glue stick, stapler, and black & blue ball point pens.
Ten un-attested recent passport-size colour photographs (front portrait, light background, without headgear except for Sikhs), holding a black slate with name and date of photograph in white chalk.
Original or DigiLocker-verified printout and four self-attested photocopies of the matriculation passing certificate (for Date of Birth verification).
Original or DigiLocker-verified printout and four self-attested photocopies of the 10+2/Intermediate/Diploma/Vocational course passing certificate and marksheet.
Original and four self-attested photocopies of the Domicile Certificate, or the applicable COAFP-I/COAFP-II certificate/service documents.
NOC in original and four self-attested photocopies from the employer, for candidates currently serving in a government organisation (if applicable).
Original and four self-attested photocopies of Discharge Certificate, for candidates discharged from the Indian Army/Indian Navy/any government organisation (if applicable).
Body tattoo photographs (two postcard-size photographs, close-up and distant view), if applicable.
Original and four self-attested photocopies of NCC 'A', 'B', or 'C' Certificate (if applicable).
Completed Consent Form for Physical Fitness Test and Medical Tests (signed by the candidate if 18+, or by parent/guardian if under 18).
Aadhaar Card as proof of identity (candidates from J&K, Ladakh, Assam, and Meghalaya without Aadhaar may carry any other valid photo ID).
Note: Candidates cannot appear in the rally without original educational certificates and the documents listed above, except where a College/Institution Principal's certificate confirms the originals are deposited with the institution, or where DigiLocker-verified certificates are produced with an accessible mobile device for verification. Internet copies or mobile-photo printouts of marksheets are not accepted.
How to Report for IAF Agniveervayu Recruitment Rally 2026
This is an Open Recruitment Rally (walk-in), not a portal-based online application. The official notification specifies only the reporting requirement at the rally venue; no separate online registration process is described in this document.
Confirm eligibility for date of birth, marital status, qualification, domicile, and medical standards as detailed above.
Report to the applicable rally venue (Chumoukedima or Sri Vijaya Puram) on the scheduled reporting date for your category (women/men), by the 10 AM cut-off time.
Carry all original documents and photocopies listed in the "Documents Required" section, along with the completed Consent Form.
Undergo document verification, followed by the Physical Fitness Test, Written Test, Adaptability Tests, and Medical Examination as per the selection procedure.

Important Instructions
No bribe is required at any stage for selection or recruitment; candidates should not fall prey to persons posing as recruiting/selecting agents. Impersonators will be prosecuted.
Mobile phones, smart watches, and other electronic devices are prohibited in testing areas during Phase-I and Phase-II; candidates found in possession will be debarred permanently.
Candidates must be prepared to stay for the entire duration of tests (PFT, written test, adaptability tests, and up to four to five days for medical examination) under their own arrangement; no TA/DA is admissible.
Candidates must provide an active e-mail ID and mobile number for all CASB communications until enrolment, and are advised to preserve their e-mail login for future reference.
If there is any variation between the English and Hindi/regional language versions of the advertisement, the English version shall be treated as authentic.
Any corrigendum, changes, or updates will be published only on the CASB web portal; no intimation will be given through newspapers or other media.
Candidates discharged from the Indian Air Force for any reason, or debarred permanently from any previous IAF exam due to malpractice, are not eligible to appear in the rally.
