Cloud Security Engineer, Senior

Everyone is trying to harness the cloud, but not everyone knows how to secure it. As a security engineer, you know how to assess and implement requirements that ensure the safety of information systems. What if you could use your cloud security skills to improve mission-critical applications for the Intelligence Community? We need you to help us develop cloud-based security architectures for some of the IC's most critical systems. ## The Role As a hands-on security engineer, you’ll evaluate and support the documentation, validation, assessment, and accreditation processes necessary to ensure IT systems meet the organization’s Information Assurance and security requirements. You'll assist in defining organizations’ desired state and risk thresholds, analyze actual state information to assess compliance, and work with leaders to codify strategic objectives into doctrine and procedures. You’ll also evaluate computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs to determine if software assurance best practices are followed. You’ll recommend tools and capabilities based on research of the current environment and knowledge of various on-premise, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. Then you’ll implement the cloud security architectures, tools, and processes you helped shape. Your technical experience will be vital as you work with IC clients to ensure standards meet security requirements. This is an opportunity to use the latest cloud technologies while collaborating with tomorrow’s cloud security experts. ### What You’ll Bring - **5+ years** of experience building and administering cloud environments, including using cloud-native functionality, COTS, GOTS, and open-source tools - Experience developing and evaluating security documentation such as system security plans, contingency plans, security procedures, and continuity of operations plans - Experience with security architecture evaluations, guidance development, and troubleshooting - Familiarity with the **Risk Management Framework (RMF)** - Experience working in an agile development environment - Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code concepts like **Terraform, Cloud. Formation, or Bicep** - **Active TS/SCI clearance** and willingness to take a polygraph exam - Education/experience options: HS diploma/GED + 7+ years, Associate’s + 5+ years, Bachelor’s + 3+ years, or Master’s + 1+ year supporting IT projects - Ability to obtain a **Do. D 8570 IAT Level III Certification** (e.g., Security. X, CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, CISSP Associate, GCED, GCIH, or CCSP) within 30 days of start - Ability to obtain a \*\*Do. D 8570 Cybersecurity Service Provider – Infrastructure Support Certification (CSSP - IS)\*\* (e.g., CEH, Cy. The projected compensation range for this position is **$99,000.00 to $225,000.00** (annualized USD). Salary is determined by factors including location, your combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific affordability. ## Work Model This role is based in **Mc. Lean, VA**. We prioritize collaboration, whether in person or virtually. Employees are expected to have cameras on during meetings. If listed as remote, occasional in-person work may be required; if hybrid, frequent work from a Booz Allen facility; if onsite, work is primarily at a Booz Allen office or customer facility. ## Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. TS/SCI clearance is required.
