Component Data Research- Night Shift

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Component Engineering team . As a Component Engineer Intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers to source, evaluate, and manage electronic components used in client products. This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world electronics manufacturing, sales team collaboration, and supply chain processes.

Note: This is a night-shift role . Only candidates comfortable and willing to work night shifts should apply

šŸ“‹ Datasheet Review & Component Analysis

  • Read and interpret component datasheets for active, passive, and electromechanical parts
  • Understand the structure and significance of manufacturer part numbers (MPN)
šŸ“‘ BOM Research & Gap Analysis
  • Identify BOM gaps — missing MPNs, unspecified manufacturers, duplicate entries, or incorrect descriptions
  • Conduct cross-referencing across distributor platforms (DigiKey, Mouser, Arrow, LCSC) to fill sourcing gaps
  • Collect lifecycle, environmental, and compliance data — RoHS compliance, REACH status, hazardous material flags, and supply/obsolescence risks
šŸ“” Client Activity Tracking & Management
  • Track and monitor client-submitted BOM requests, queries, and research tasks within the internal tool
  • Log every client interaction (new BOM submissions, revision requests, gap reports, feedback) with proper timestamps and status updates
  • Update task status in real time to ensure visibility for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Follow up on open items to ensure no request goes untracked or unresolved beyond SLA
  • Maintain data hygiene — accurate client details, correct part data, and updated activity logs
Education
  • Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) from a recognized polytechnic/technical institute
  • Minimum 70% aggregate marks (or equivalent CGPA) — preferred
Technical Knowledge
  • Basic understanding of electronic components — active, passive, and electromechanical
  • Ability to read and understand component datasheets and technical specifications
  • Awareness of the electronics supply chain: manufacturers → distributors → EMS → OEM
  • Basic understanding of PCB assembly and electronics manufacturing processes is a plus
Tools & Research Skills
  • MS Excel / Google Sheets — for BOM management, gap tracking, and data entry
  • Basic internet research skills for component sourcing, datasheet lookup, and alternate part finding
  • Familiarity with distributor platforms: DigiKey, Mouser, Arrow, LCSC, Octopart
  • Ability to use and maintain internal applications/tools for tracking client BOM requests
  • Familiarity with BOM gap analysis concepts — missing risk data, sourcing risks, alternate sourcing strategy
Soft Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data and documentation
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Good communication skills — written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
