Designation/Position- Contract Faculty position at IIITIndian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam invites applications for Contract Faculty position at IIIT from eligible and interested candidates.
About- Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kottayam at Valavoor, Pala, Kerala, is one of the IIITs established as “Institutions of National Importance” by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India under the ambit of IIIT (PPP) Act 2017. IIIT Kottayam campus is situated at Valavoor, Pala, Kottayam – a picture location spread over in 53 acres of land – allotted by Govt. of Kerala in the southern part of the state commonly referred to as God’s Own Country.
Research/Job Area- Interdisciplinary areas of Computer Science & Engineering All specializations under Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology.
Candidates should be open to working on interdisciplinary projects.
Location- Indian Institute of Information Technology – Kottayam Eligibility/Qualification– Essential
- PhD in the relevant area of CSE/IT
- At least one publication in an SCI journal
- Preferably below 35 years.
- Age relaxation as per Government of India rules.
- Applicable as per Government of India norms.

Here’s What The Role Involves
- Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students across core areas of CSE/IT.
- Contributing to research and interdisciplinary projects.
- Participating in institute activities as assigned by the administration.
- Appearing for all stages of the selection process: written test, presentation, and interview.
- Written exam syllabus will follow IIIT Kottayam’s B.Tech CSE core subjects.
- Minimum qualifying marks in the written test:
- General: 60 percent
- OBC-NCL: 50 percent
- SC/ST: 45 percent
- Only those who qualify in the written test will be considered for presentation/interview.
- Shortlisted candidates will receive AC III-tier travel reimbursement for the interview stage.
- Candidates appointed under this contract role will not receive certain regular-cadre benefits like NPS or LTC, though leave benefits will be provided.
- IIIT Kottayam functions under the PPP model without recurring government funding.
- Recruitment may be limited based on financial stability.
- Pay, allowances, and service conditions may be revised depending on institutional decisions.
