Head of Application Engineering Practice

As an AVP/VP Practice Leader, Application Engineering at Xceedance, your role is to build and lead the Application Engineering Practice for Insurance SI services, focusing on Digital Engineering, Application Development & Modernization, Integration Engineering, and Cloud-Native Engineering. You will be responsible for driving practice strategy, large program delivery excellence, capability building, and innovation across strategic insurance accounts. **Key Responsibilities:** - Own the vision, roadmap, and growth strategy for the Application Engineering practice across Digital / AD / Integration / Cloud. - Build and scale the practice structure including leadership bench, competency frameworks, delivery playbooks, and engineering standards. - Define practice-level governance covering delivery quality metrics, resourcing strategy, utilization, and margin optimization. - Lead and govern large engineering programs involving complex builds, modernization, and integration transformation. - Provide technology leadership across Digital engineering, Application modernization, API & integration ecosystems, and Cloud-native engineering. - Act as a trusted advisor to client senior leaders on application modernization, cloud transformation, and digital engineering strategy. - Lead solutioning for strategic pursuits, support RFP responses, and drive account expansion using scalable, reusable solutions. - Build practice assets, define engineering maturity models, and sponsor innovation in platform engineering and cloud-native modernization. **Qualifications Required:** - 1622+ years of experience in application engineering and delivery leadership. - 5+ years in leadership roles at AVP/VP level covering Delivery / Practice / Portfolio / Architecture leadership. - Insurance domain knowledge and familiarity with insurance platforms. - Mandatory onshore experience working at client locations in US / UK / Australia. - Bachelors or Masters in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent. In this role, you will need to demonstrate expertise in practice leadership, large-program delivery, solutioning & consulting, modern engineering architecture, cloud & platform engineering, DevSecOps & automation, client leadership, and people leadership. Strong architecture and design capability, delivery governance skills, and excellent executive communication are essential for success in this position. Preferred certifications include Cloud Solution Architect, TOGAF, SAFe, Kubernetes, and Security certs. Experience establishing reusable accelerators and IP would be a plus.
