Role Description This is a part-time hybrid role for Court Licensed or Empanelled Legal Translators based in New Delhi, with flexibility for some work from home.

The Legal

Translator will translate, review, and validate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, affidavits, orders, and certificates, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to court-approved terminology.

Responsibilities include comparing source and target texts, clarifying legal nuances, and flagging ambiguities or potential risks in translated content. The role involves collaborating with the product and linguistic teams to refine AI-generated drafts, provide feedback on terminology databases, and help improve translation workflows and quality checks.

The Legal

Translator will also prepare certified translations where required, maintain confidentiality and data security, and ensure compliance with relevant court or regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Law and familiarity with court procedures, legal document structures, and judicial terminology.
  • Proven expertise in Translation and Legal Translation , especially for contracts, pleadings, judgments, and official records.
  • Experience with Legal Document Preparation , including formatting, referencing, and preparing documents for court or official submission.
  • Advanced command of legal Terminology in at least one Indian language and English (additional Indian or global languages are an advantage).
  • Court-licensed, empanelled, or otherwise officially recognized as a legal translator by a court, government body, or bar association.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight timelines while maintaining confidentiality and data protection.
  • Comfort working with digital tools, AI-assisted translation platforms, and online document management systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law, Linguistics, Translation Studies, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
