Night Shift Incharge - Manufacturing Operations

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management

• Ensure achievement of hourly and shift-wise production targets.
• Monitor Press Shop, Robotic Welding, Manual Welding, Tube Fabrication, Assembly, and Dispatch preparation activities.
• Prevent line stoppages and production losses.
• Balance manpower across departments based on priorities.
• Ensure smooth changeovers and production planning execution.

1. Quality Control

• Responsible for quality output during the night shift.
• Stop production immediately if quality abnormalities are found.
• Ensure Layered Process Audits (LPA) are followed.
• Review rejection, rework, and PPM trends.
• Coordinate with Quality Engineers for containment actions.
• Ensure no suspect material moves to dispatch.

1. Manpower & Discipline

• Control attendance and manpower deployment.
• Monitor contract labour productivity.
• Handle worker grievances during shift.
• Ensure discipline and shop floor compliance.
• Prevent unauthorized absenteeism and idle time.

1. Machine & Maintenance Coordination

• Coordinate with maintenance team for machine breakdowns.
• Ensure immediate escalation of critical breakdowns.

• Ensure maximum machine uptime.

1. Safety & Compliance

• Enforce PPE compliance.
• Ensure safe machine operation.
• Conduct night safety rounds.
• Report near misses and incidents.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF requirements.

1. Dispatch Readiness

• Ensure next-day dispatch quantities are completed.
• Verify production against dispatch plan.
• Coordinate with stores and logistics team.
• Escalate any risk to customer supply.

1. Reporting & Escalation

Prepare and submit:

• Production Report
• Rejection Report
• Breakdown Report
• Attendance Report
• Critical Issues Report

before shift handover. Authority Levels The Night Shift Incharge shall have authority to:

Stop production for quality concerns

Reallocate manpower

Escalate maintenance emergencies

Hold suspect material

Initiate disciplinary action for misconduct

Call senior management in case of customer supply risk

Ownership Statement

"The Night Shift Incharge will act as the Plant Head during night operations and shall be fully accountable for Production, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Safety, and Discipline of the plant during his shift."
