National Testing Agency (NTA) General Manager - Test Security & Live Operations Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The National Testing Agency, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education, has released a notification to engage 1 General Manager for Test Security & Live Operations on contract. NTA conducts major national exams like JEE (Main), NEET (UG), UGC-NET and CUET for crores of candidates every year, and this role will head the agency's test-security and real-time examination-monitoring function, covering everything from confidential question-paper handling to centre-level security and AI-driven anomaly detection. Candidates with a senior background in police, intelligence, vigilance or large-event security management are encouraged to apply. As GM-TSLO, you will report directly to the Director General and run NTA's 24x7 Live Operations Command Centre from D-7 to D+1 of every major exam, working closely with State Police, District Police and Central Paramilitary Forces to keep every centre secure.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Graduate degree from a recognised university; a postgraduate qualification in Management, Public Administration, Defence Studies, Security Studies, Engineering or an allied discipline is an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience in security, intelligence, vigilance, examination operations, large-event management or critical-infrastructure protection.
  • Seniority: At least 5 years of this experience must be at a senior leadership level, such as Senior Superintendent of Police, Deputy Inspector General, Brigadier-equivalent, or Head of Examination Security.
  • Desirable: Background in armed forces, paramilitary, police or investigation agencies, and familiarity with the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

Age Limit

  • You should preferably be below 58 years as on the last date of application.
  • Age Relaxation: May be considered for exceptional candidates with a strong security or examination-operations background.

Salary

  • You will get a consolidated monthly remuneration, decided by the competent authority based on your qualifications, experience and industry benchmarks. The package is negotiable for exceptional candidates.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

  1. Shortlisting: Based on your qualifications, experience and suitability for the role.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear before a Selection Committee, with an option to present on test-security strategy and operations.
  3. Background Verification: Comprehensive background checks are done before any offer is made, given the sensitive nature of the role.

Since this is one of NTA's most operationally critical positions, the selected candidate will also be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement and submit to periodic background verification during the engagement.
