Role Overview The Placements & Training Officer will be responsible for building and strengthening corporate relationships, creating placement opportunities, and enhancing the employability of fresh graduates of an international university in India. The role requires a strong understanding of campus placements, employer engagement, student training, and industry expectations.
The ideal candidate should be able to work closely with students, faculty, employers, and university leadership to create structured placement pathways, organize employability interventions, and develop a strong corporate network across sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Relations & Employer Engagement- Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporates, industry associations, recruitment partners, and HR leaders to generate placement and internship opportunities for students.
- Identify potential employers across relevant sectors and actively engage with them for campus hiring, industry interactions, live projects, internships, and graduate roles.
- Represent the university in meetings with corporate partners and position its students effectively for hiring opportunities.
- Build a strong database of companies, recruiters, and hiring contacts across India.
- Plan and organize employer engagement activities such as corporate connects, guest lectures, industry visits, recruitment drives, career fairs, and networking events.
- Drive end-to-end placement and internship processes for fresh graduates, including employer outreach, student mapping, scheduling interviews, coordination, offer tracking, and post-placement follow-up.
- Understand job requirements from employers and match suitable students based on skills, academic background, interest areas, and career aspirations.
- Monitor student placement readiness and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
- Track placement outcomes, employer feedback, student performance, and hiring trends.
- Ensure smooth coordination between students, employers, faculty, and university teams during the recruitment cycle.
- Conduct student counselling sessions to understand career goals, skill gaps, and placement preferences.
- Work with internal and external trainers to deliver structured training modules aligned with industry expectations.
- Identify gaps in student readiness and recommend training interventions to improve employability outcomes.
- Prepare students for corporate interactions, interviews, assessment centres, and final placement processes.
- Strong corporate networking and relationship-building skills.
- Good understanding of graduate hiring, campus recruitment, internships, and employability training.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to counsel and mentor students with patience and clarity.
- Strong planning, coordination, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders including students, faculty, employers, and university leadership.
- Good understanding of industry expectations from fresh graduates.
- Comfortable with data tracking, reporting, and placement MIS.
- Self-driven, target-oriented, and capable of building employer relationships from scratch.
MBA or postgraduate qualification in HR, Business, Education Management, or a related field will be good to have
Preferred Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in campus placements, corporate relations, career services, HR recruitment, campus hiring, or training and development.
