Role Overview: You will be responsible for managing and optimizing shipping and maritime operations within the petrochemical and plastics logistics chain. Your role will involve ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of raw materials and finished products via sea and other maritime channels to support the extensive manufacturing and distribution network across India and globally. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement strategic plans for the company's maritime logistics, with a focus on bulk liquid and solid cargo. - Oversee the chartering, operation, and management of vessels while ensuring compliance with international and national maritime regulations. - Manage relationships with shipping lines, port authorities, freight forwarders, and other maritime service providers. - Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service level agreements to achieve cost efficiencies. - Monitor vessel performance, cargo handling, and transit times to identify and resolve operational issues. - Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) policies and procedures in all maritime operations. - Coordinate with internal teams (procurement, production, sales, supply chain) to align shipping schedules with business needs. - Analyze market trends and propose innovative solutions to enhance supply chain resilience and efficiency. - Manage insurance claims and handle other maritime-related documentation and legal aspects. - Provide regular reports on shipping performance, costs, and market intelligence to senior management.
