The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Music AI Response Reviewer to support quality assurance for large language model evaluation projects. You will use your knowledge of music to review domain-specific prompts and evaluate AI-generated tasks for factual accuracy, consistency, reasoning quality, completeness, and alignment with project guidelines.

This is a part-time contractor opportunity requiring 20 or more hours per week. The role is open worldwide and requires excellent written English.

What You'll Do

You will help ensure that music-focused evaluation data is accurate, consistent, and useful for AI development. Reviews should be objective, careful, and supported by clear reasoning and evidence.

  • Review and validate prompts covering music theory, genres, composers, artists, music history, production, and instruments.
  • Evaluate completed AI-generated tasks for factual accuracy, reasoning quality, completeness, and compliance with project guidelines.
  • Identify factual inaccuracies, logical inconsistencies, hallucinations, and low-quality annotations.
  • Provide clear, constructive, evidence-based feedback to contributors.
  • Maintain consistency across reviews by following established quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and AI teams to improve evaluation quality.

Requirements

This role is designed for a knowledgeable music specialist who can assess both subject-matter accuracy and the quality of AI-generated content. The experience level is listed as entry level, while the role requires substantial academic or professional music expertise.

  • Master's degree or higher in Music, Music Theory, Musicology, Ethnomusicology, Music Education, Music Performance, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of professional, research, teaching, or industry experience in the music domain.
  • Excellent written English communication and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify factual, logical, and contextual errors in AI-generated content.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, genres, composers, artists, instruments, music production, and music history.

Helpful Background

Experience with AI evaluation or content quality workflows can help you succeed, although the central requirement is strong music expertise and the ability to make consistent, evidence-based judgments.

  • Experience reviewing AI-generated content, large language model evaluations, prompt engineering, or annotation quality.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance, editorial review, or content evaluation workflows.
  • Ability to provide objective, evidence-based feedback.
  • Experience working independently in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
