Required Female Steward For Hospital Job

The Female Steward is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day comfort, dietary services and general well-being of patients. She acts as a vital bridge between the kitchen / housekeeping and the patients, ensuring compassionate care, clean surroundings, and timely food and beverage distribution.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Patient Dietary & Food Services:
  • Collect prescribed diet trays/meal carts from the hospital main kitchen.
  • Serve meals, snacks, and beverages to patients in their respective rooms or beds according to dietary specifications (e.g., liquid diet, diabetic diet, low-sodium).
  • Assist dependent or elderly female/pediatric patients with feeding if required.
  • Clear used trays, cutlery, and glassware promptly after meals, ensuring high standards of pantry cleanliness.
  1. Patient Comfort & Guest Relations:
  • Welcome newly admitted female patients and orient them to the room/ward facilities, call bells, and amenities.
  • Respond politely to patient requests and call lights, escalating medical needs immediately to the nursing staff.
  • Provide fresh drinking water, extra blankets, or comfort items between regular service hours.
  • Offer a compassionate, reassuring presence, ensuring female patients feel secure and well-cared for.
  1. Ward Hygiene & Housekeeping Support:
  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the patient bedside tables, side-stations, and pantry areas.
  • Coordinate with the housekeeping department for fresh linen changes, sanitization, or waste disposal in assigned rooms.
  • Ensure that spills, soiled items, or garbage bins in the immediate patient dining/living area are cleared safely and hygienically.
  1. Inventory & Administrative Tasks:
  • Keep a regular stock check of pantry supplies, disposable cutlery, water jugs, and cleaning materials.
  • Report any broken equipment, room maintenance issues, or inventory shortages to the supervisor.
  • Maintain basic logs of meal distributions or special dietary feedback from patients.
Eligibility & Qualifications: A certification of diploma in hospitality, hotel management or nursing assistant training. Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience working as steward, floor hostess, guest relation assistant, or healthcare attendant in a hospital, clinic, or hospitality environment.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional empathy, patience, and a polite demeanor.
  • Strong communication skills in the local language and basic English/Hindi to converse smoothly with patients and medical staff.
  • Neat, professional grooming and adherence to hospital hygiene codes
